The Center was awarded two research grants ($1.2M) from the Great lakes Protection Fund and the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research to study ‘Sustainability-Linked Financing Mechanisms for Agriculture in the Great Lakes Region’, in collaboration with the Ross School of Business, LimnoTech, the Croatan Institute and Blockchain Triangle.
The team, consisting of Jon Allan, Ravi Anupindi, David LeZaks, John Bratton, and Darren Wolfberg will work with institutional investors, the farm credit financing system, and commodity supply chain partners to build and test a blockchain based TCFD-compliant financing model with derivative capacity to reduce fertilizer emissions in the Great Lakes.
